A new nonprofit initiative, the Bitcoin Scholars Fund (BSF), announced plans attempting to redirect $21 million from federal coffers into K\u201312 Bitcoin education by 2027. The organization unveiled<\/a> its mission on X, promoting what it calls a \u201cmodern alternative\u201d to government-backed education funding.<\/p>\n

According to group statements, the fund will leverage<\/a> the One Big Beautiful Bill Act beginning in 2027, allowing individuals to claim a 1:1 federal tax credit for donations up to $1,700 \u2014 or $3,400 for couples \u2014 toward Bitcoin-focused curricula. The organization says this structure effectively makes the contribution \u201cnet cost $0\u201d for donors while channeling funds directly into classrooms.<\/p>\n

In other words, a taxpayer with a standard 8,000 dollar federal bill could donate 1,700 dollars to the Bitcoin Scholars Fund, receive a full 1,700 dollar federal credit, and still remit 8,000 dollars total \u2014 effectively redirecting part of their liability from general revenues into Bitcoin education at no additional net cost.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The organization\u2019s stated goal is to recruit 12,350 donors, described as the \u201cGenesis 12,350,\u201d to fully fund a 20,999,999 dollar pool dedicated to primary and secondary education in Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Scholarships will support coursework in Bitcoin, Austrian economics, and \u201cfreedom tech\u201d at partner schools that complete Base58\u2019s \u201cBitcoin at Work(shop)\u201d certification, which brings protocol-level, hands-on instruction into classrooms.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bitcoin Scholars Fund: Powered by STRC<\/h2>\n

The fund\u2019s model introduces what it describes as a \u201cZero-Leakage Treasury,\u201d powered by STRC<\/a>, to ensure minimal overhead and maximize the direct impact of funds on educational content and student resources.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cUsing a STRC bridge, we generate our own operational fuel, allowing us to bypass the standard 10% fee and deliver near 100% efficiency for every dollar you redirect,\u201d the Fund\u2019s website reads.\u00a0<\/p>\n

BSF\u2019s approach is presented as a response to widespread dissatisfaction with current fiscal and educational systems.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government\u2019s education model doesn\u2019t prepare the next generation for the world we\u2019re building,\u201d the organization wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s time to opt out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Its founders are calling on supporters to begin contributing and spreading awareness ahead of the fund\u2019s official launch on January 3, 2027\u2014symbolically aligning with Bitcoin\u2019s 18th anniversary.<\/p>\n
