{"id":5631,"date":"2025-12-01T22:16:14","date_gmt":"2025-12-01T22:16:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/digkrypton.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/worlds-second-largest-asset-manager-vanguard-opens-its-platform-to-bitcoin-and-crypto-etfs-bloomberg\/"},"modified":"2025-12-01T22:16:14","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T22:16:14","slug":"worlds-second-largest-asset-manager-vanguard-opens-its-platform-to-bitcoin-and-crypto-etfs-bloomberg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/digkrypton.com\/index.php\/2025\/12\/01\/worlds-second-largest-asset-manager-vanguard-opens-its-platform-to-bitcoin-and-crypto-etfs-bloomberg\/","title":{"rendered":"World\u2019s Second Largest Asset Manager Vanguard Opens Its Platform to Bitcoin and Crypto ETFs: Bloomberg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/\">Bitcoin Magazine<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/news\/vanguard-opens-platform-to-bitcoin-etfs\">World\u2019s Second Largest Asset Manager Vanguard Opens Its Platform to Bitcoin and Crypto ETFs: Bloomberg<\/a><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Vanguard Group will allow bitcoin and crypto-linked exchange-traded funds and mutual funds to trade on its platform, reversing a policy that for years barred retail clients from accessing digital-asset products through the firm.<\/p>\n<p>Starting Tuesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/tags\/vanguard\">Vanguard<\/a> brokerage customers will be able to trade ETFs and mutual funds that primarily hold select cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and other crypto, according to Bloomberg <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-12-01\/vanguard-relents-on-crypto-etfs-will-allow-them-on-its-platform?srnd=phx-markets&amp;embedded-checkout=true\" target=\"_blank\">reporting<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The move marks a shift for the world\u2019s second-largest asset manager, which <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/business\/vanguard-reportedly-restricts-customer-access-to-spot-bitcoin-etfs\">has long argued that digital assets<\/a> were too volatile and speculative for long-term portfolios.<\/p>\n<p>The decision follows growing demand from both retail and institutional investors and comes after the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 ushered billions of dollars into regulated crypto products.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BlackRock\u2019s iShares Bitcoin Trust, the largest of those funds, <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoinmagazine.com\/markets\/blackrocks-ibit-etf-nears-100-billion\">peaked<\/a> near $100 billion in assets earlier this fall and still manages about $70 billion despite recent price declines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A Bitcoin ETF lets investors gain exposure to Bitcoin without actually buying or storing the cryptocurrency themselves.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Instead, the fund holds Bitcoin (or Bitcoin-related contracts) while investors simply buy shares on a stock exchange, with the share price moving alongside Bitcoin\u2019s market value.
