Trump Floats $2,000 Tariff Checks for Americans \u2014 2020 Stimulus in Bitcoin Would Now Be Worth $18,900<\/a><\/p>\n

President Donald Trump announced Sunday that his administration wants to send Americans a $2,000 \u201ctariff dividend\u201d check, citing record revenues from trade tariffs and a booming U.S. economy.<\/p>\n

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, \u201cPeople that are against Tariffs are FOOLS! We are now the Richest, Most Respected Country In the World, With Almost No Inflation, and A Record Stock Market Price.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president said that \u201ca dividend of at least $2,000 a person (not including high-income people!) will be paid to everyone,\u201d describing the payout as a benefit from the trillions of dollars collected through tariffs.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time Trump has floated the idea of sharing tariff revenues<\/a> directly with Americans.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s announcement comes as the Supreme Court considers whether his administration\u2019s wide-ranging tariffs were legally imposed<\/a>. Justices reportedly sounded skeptical of his authority during last week\u2019s oral arguments.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, Trump posted<\/a> \u201cAll money left over from the $2000 payments made to low and middle income USA Citizens, from the massive Tariff Income pouring into our Country from foreign countries, which will be substantial, will be used to SUBSTANTIALLY PAY DOWN NATIONAL DEBT.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Despite the legal uncertainty, Trump doubled down on his trade policy, touting record stock prices, all-time-high 401(k)s, and what he called \u201ca manufacturing boom across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump stimulus checks into Bitcoin?\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The move has drawn comparisons to the pandemic-era stimulus checks \u2014 and the incredible returns<\/a> those payments would have generated for anyone who invested them in Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

If you bought Bitcoin with your $1,200 stimulus check<\/a> in April 2020, you\u2019d now be sitting on roughly $18,940 \u2014 a gain<\/a> of more than 1,400%. Back then, Bitcoin traded around $6,600. Today, the price is hovering above $105,000.<\/p>\n

For those who received all three rounds of stimulus \u2014 $1,200 in 2020, $600 in January 2021, and $1,400 in March 2021 \u2014 and invested the total $3,200, the holdings would now exceed $50,000, depending on the timing and sale (if needed) of each purchase.<\/p>\n

While we can\u2019t predict the future, it\u2019s safe to assume that buying $2000 worth of Bitcoin will lead to higher profits in the future. The comparison underscores the long-term performance of Bitcoin<\/a> as a hedge against government spending and inflation \u2014 themes that have remained central to Trump\u2019s economic rhetoric.<\/p>\n
