Satlantis is the Discovery App I\u2019ve Been Looking For My Whole Life<\/a><\/p>\n

My name is Jordi Llonch Esteve<\/a>, and my life has been defined by one thing \u2014 movement. <\/em><\/p>\n

Long before finding Bitcoin<\/a>, I worked as an airline pilot. I would wake up in a new country almost every morning! I carry many invaluable experiences with me from that time, as I learned how to navigate layovers, find local shortcuts and spot the best places to go to and things to do \u2014 and also what to avoid! But throughout all these adventures, there was always one thing that was missing: <\/p>\n

I was lacking community. That was always a struggle.<\/p>\n

Eventually, I changed directions and swapped cockpits for start-ups. My biggest venture, Sharing Academy<\/strong> \u2014 Europe\u2019s first peer-to-peer tutoring marketplace \u2014 was what I call a \u201csuccessful failure.\u201d We won Best App of the World<\/em> at Mobile World Congress and received invitations to work for private and government-led initiatives in Spain, Switzerland, South Korea, Portugal and France. I still recall celebrating that win\u2026 and then hitting the hard crash of running out of steam. <\/p>\n

The company didn\u2019t survive \u2014 but the lessons I gained did.<\/p>\n

After that time, defeated, I needed to recover. My former partners Sim\u00f3n Lee and Andr\u00e9s Manso invited me to join their new venture, Peninsula Corporate Innovation. I helped large corporations stay relevant through Open Innovation \u2014 a bridge between fresh start-ups and established giants. Sitting in boardrooms dominated by the rat race and fiat mindset made me yearn for the free skies \u2014 the contrast couldn\u2019t have been starker. This was a time of learning and adaptation, and also one of curiosity as I let myself fall down the sovereignty rabbit hole thanks to Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

Over those ten years \u2014 five running Sharing Academy and five at Peninsula \u2014 I traveled constantly: always on the move, meeting clients and forging IRL connections. I was no longer a pilot, but my lifestyle hadn\u2019t changed much. What took me a long time to realize is that there is a term that describes this lifestyle: digital nomad.<\/strong> And that there are nearly 50 million of us navigating the world this way, balancing work, travel and community.<\/p>\n

Between Bitcoin and the travel world, I had found a home.<\/p>\n

Then, in 2024, I ran into Aleksandar Svetski \u2014 Bitcoin entrepreneur, author of The UnCommunist Manifesto<\/em> and The Bushido of Bitcoin<\/a><\/em>, and founder of The Bitcoin Times<\/em>. When he told me what he was working on, I couldn\u2019t believe it. A new kind of app for travelers and Bitcoiners? Talk about perfect timing!<\/p>\n
